Elevation Sound x Novation presents : My Machines

A big Thank You to the guys and girls at Elevator Sound for putting together ‘My Machines’ the other week, a whole day event focusing on the vibrant Bristol Music scene in conjunction with Novation, featuring its latest equipment offerings at the Canteen in Bristol.

Driving up from London, I arrived as the talks kicked off with some expert advise on how to throw the best parties in town and possibly anywhere in the world, featuring Dave Harvey and Rag Satguru of futureboogie.com and grademanagement.com

Next up was Roni Size, who talked about his upbringing in Bristol and his start in the Music scene, going back to the late ‘80’s ‘90’s all the way up to the present day, a very interesting talk indeed and a bit of a time-warp ….Thanks again to the peeps at Elevator and Novation I got to meet Roni afterwards, to ask him a few more ronisize.net

As the talks carried on into the afternoon I took some time off looking amongst the Novation gear, receiving some rather good advise, eating some delicious cake whilst falling in love with Novation Ultra Nova ! uk.novationmusic.com

Later the the crowd upstairs was getting ready for a masterclass from DJ Krust on Originality and Authenticity – I almost thought I walked into a sermon for a minute, quite possibly the quickest seminar I’ve been to on how to get off default mode…..facebook.com/Dj.Krust

I stayed for a bit of Smith and Mighty afterwards, who talked about the beginnings of the Bristol Sound and making electronic music before the Computer Generation myspace.com/smithandmighty

So, Stokes Croft In Bristol its definitely where it’s at and I will be back, very very soon canteenbristol.com
